Michael D. Barcus
Michael Barcus is the founding partner and CEO of Purchasing Management Associates, (PMA.) He initially gained strategic sourcing / cost reduction experience while working as a consultant for ICG Commerce, a global purchasing consulting firm based in Jenkintown Pennsylvania. As a consultant for Schering-Plough Corporation, through ICG Commerce, Michael managed initiatives including Fulfillment Services, Computer Software and Capital Construction, and was part of a team that saved over $150MM in a three year period.

Upon leaving ICG Commerce, Michael co-founded Strategic Purchasing Group, a cost reduction consulting firm that focused, on helping underserved mid-size companies reduce the cost of purchased goods and services.

Michael’s vision for PMA was to build a consulting firm to help organizations reduce costs and create process efficiencies without sacrificing quality or service. In order to do this Michael assembled an experienced management team and expert consultants with the knowledge needed to properly assist large corporations in detailed cost reduction initiatives. PMA was founded in March of 2004.

In all, Michael has overseen in excess of $615 million dollars in project expenses and identified in excess of $75 million dollars in savings.

Michael has appeared on the Comcast show “Money Matters” and continues to be a member of many industry panel discussions, as an expert in cost reduction and process efficiencies.
